SAAPE Campaign Member-Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS advanced itsWomen’s Rights Campaign Action Planin Bangladesh through a series of strategic activities. On28 September, a CSO orientation and planning workshop in Dhaka brought together women leaders and activists to discuss women’s land rights, care economy, domestic workers’ issues, and climate justice. Participants shared how discriminatory laws and social norms limit women’s rights, highlighted the invisibility of unpaid care work, and emphasized the disproportionate impact of climate change on women workers. Following this, on 27 October, a capacity enhancement training was held for new SAAPE members to strengthen skills in advocacy strategy building, case documentation, mobilization, and policy review, preparing participants for effective grassroots and national engagement.
The campaign continued with a public mobilization on 25 November in Dhaka to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Through a human chain on Mirpur Road, around 75 participants raised demands on women’s land rights, care work recognition, rights of women domestic workers, and effective policy implementation on climate justice and gender-based violence. The action linked structural inequalities to increased vulnerabilities and called on policymakers and duty bearers to ensure women’s safety, justice, and dignity, especially for marginalized and informal sector women. The mobilization combined offline visibility with online messaging to broaden public engagement and reinforce commitment toward equality and rights for all women.
