In August 2025, the Labour Education Foundation (LEF), Pakistan carried out wide-ranging activities to promote workers’ rights, gender equality, and workplace safety. LEF organised awareness sessions for women garment and textile workers on menstrual health, labour rights, and occupational health and safety, helping break taboos and build confidence. Additional trainings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa focused on OHS standards and union rights. LEF also provided legal aid and welfare support to hundreds of workers, securing millions of rupees in unpaid dues and reinstating unlawfully dismissed workers. Engagements with factory management addressed harassment prevention, daycare, washroom facilities, and wage compliance, while outreach to brick kiln workers exposed severe wage exploitation and lack of social protection. Capacity-building initiatives strengthened union organising and women’s participation in labour movements.
