Peoples’ 20 Submits Call To The G20 Development Ministers Meeting For Addressing Impoverishment, Inequality And Sustainable Development

The Forum reviewed the working documents containing recommendations and policy proposals under different thematic groups, including economy and finance; climate and environment; education; business and human rights; education; and democracy and civic space.

Peoples’ 20 Bangkok Forum on G20 Summit was held on 5 June 2023. Peoples’ 20 is an unofficial initiative that runs complementary to the official G20 process and seeks to incorporate the views of marginalized communities into G20 discussions. SAAPE is one of the co-convenors of the Peoples’ 20. 28 participants from nine countries in Asia and Europe participated in the Forum. The Forum reviewed the working documents containing recommendations and policy proposals under different thematic groups, including economy and finance; climate and environment; education; business and human rights; education; and democracy and civic space. Following the meeting, the Peoples’ 20 released a civil society statement and urgent call for addressing impoverishment, inequality and sustainable development, which was submitted to the G20 Development Ministers Meeting to be held on 11-13 June 2023.
