Dr. Netra Prasad Timsina has extensive experience in development rights, including health, education, employment, and social security, with a strong focus on the SDGs (Agenda 2030), climate change, migration, and decent work. He coordinated the triannual Poverty and Vulnerability Report of South Asia published by the South Asia Alliance for Poverty Eradication (SAAPE), with the latest edition focusing on Social Security in South Asia. His expertise also includes public finance, particularly fiscal and tax justice in developing countries.
He has coordinated and facilitated several regional and global multi‑country platforms addressing transboundary issues such as migration, climate action, and economic development. He actively participated in the G20 process, representing the interests of LDCs and developing countries at events in Bali (2022) and New Delhi (2023), and has attended multiple UN Conferences of Parties (COPs).
Dr. Timsina has served as a Board Member of the Nepal Agriculture Research Council (NARC), a Member of Nepal’s Climate Change Council, and Chair of the High‑Level Taskforce on the Investigation of Forest Degradation (2020). He also teaches public policy courses at universities in Nepal as an adjunct professor.
